Gray is Here to Stay

There are color trends that come and go, colors that were once hip that are “in” again, and then there are certain neutrals that seem popular year after year. They have long-term staying power. Gray is one of those colors—it goes with so many complementary shades, can be cool or warm, acts as the perfect background for bright pops of color or can stand alone, too.

This bedroom uses gray to set the tone for a soothing, relaxing retreat.

Dark gray is used in this dining room to showcase artwork in white and the room’s other lighter accessories. They really pop thanks to the deeper gray walls, a striking combination.

If you’re redoing a bathroom, gray can also be a great backdrop for white appliances. It offers a nice soothing feel to the space as well.

Gray is definitely here to stay, and can be used anywhere in the home from dining rooms to bathrooms, bedrooms to offices. If you’re thinking of using gray in your home, your local paint store will offer a plethora of shades, from cools to warms, light and dark shades. Ask for a wet paint sample of what’s likely to become your next favorite neutral.
